The fourth installment in the Step Up franchise continued to deliver on what the series does best; showcase some incredible dancing that features a combination of hip hop, ballet and expressionist choreography with an emphasis on the hip hop part. The cast excels in their dance ability amidst a backdrop of romance, a little soul-searching and doing the right thing. This autumn, Step Up Revolution comes home to Blu-ray and DVD!

Arriving on September 11, 2012, a trio of horror flicks will be arriving on Blu-ray for the first time. Killer Klowns From Outer Space, Jeepers Creepers, and Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 will all be making their Blu-ray debut, courtesy of MGM Home Entertainment and each are equipped with a nice selection of extra features. Now this may seem like a random selection of horror films, but they all at least deliver on the creepy factor in different ways and would be fine additions to any horror fan’s collection. Celebrated documentarian Ken Burns delivers an engrossing chronicle of America’s greatest environmental catastrophe with THE DUST BOWL, arriving on Blu-ray and DVD November 20, 2012 from PBS Distribution and Paramount Home Media Distribution. The two-part, four-hour documentary offers a dramatic depiction of how human blindness to the balance of nature destroyed the farmlands of the Great Plains throughout the 1930s as prairies were turned into deserts and massive deadly dust storms took the lives and hopes of many Americans. After seeing Paranorman tonight, here’s another animated flick I’m really looking forward to seeing. Columbia/Sony Picture’s Hotel Transylvania stars Adam Sandler, Andy Samberg, Kevin James, Selena Gomez, Steve Buscemi, CeeLo Green, David Spade, Molly Shannon and Fran Drescher. Welcome to the Hotel Transylvania, Dracula’s (Adam Sandler) lavish five-stake resort, where monsters and their families can live it up, free to be the monsters they are without humans to bother them. On one special weekend, Dracula has invited some of the world’s most famous monsters – Frankenstein and his wife, the Mummy, the Invisible Man, a family of werewolves, and more – to celebrate his daughter Mavis’s 118th birthday. For Drac, catering to all of these legendary monsters is no problem – but his world could come crashing down when one ordinary guy stumbles on the hotel and takes a shine to Mavis. The Will Smith sci-fi blockbuster I, Robot is returning to Blu-ray with an all new 3D edition this October. Earlier in the Summer, it was revealed that a limited edition of this 3D Blu-ray, complete with a replica robot head (check it out HERE), would be available at San Diego Comic Con. Now everyone will be able to check out this new 3D version of the film in a 3D Blu-ray Combo Pack on October 23rd. For those in need of a reminder, this is the film loosley based around Isaac Asimov’s short-story collection of the same name. Director Alex Proyas (Dark City, The Crow) and his crew built a futuristic world for a sci-fi/action film with Will Smith starring as a detective looking to learn the truth behind the robots that the world’s population have come to trust. The Olympics may be over, but the games will carry on! The Do-Deca Pentathlon went in and out of a limited amount of theaters and was available on VOD, but now it is headed for Blu-ray and DVD. Earlier in the year, the Duplass Brothers film Jeff, Who Lives at Home came out in theaters and now they have followed that up with The Do-Deca-Pentathlon. ‘Do-Deca’ was actually made a few years ago, but between ‘Jeff’ and 2010’s Cyrus it would seem that the Duplass’ have been given the chance to put out their much smaller and more personal movie. ‘Do-Deca’ is a minimalist sort of feature that doubles as a high stakes sports film and an exploration of sibling rivalry. It is certainly small scale, but also well done (Review). The film will be released on September 18th. Read on to learn more about this upcoming Blu-ray release.
