Popping the disc of Antoine Fuqua’s 2026 biopic Michael into the home theater setup, I was ready for a spectacle. And structurally, it delivers—the movie is undeniably well-made, visually striking, and full of good intentions. But as the credits rolled, I was left with a distinct feeling of déjà vu. Produced by the same team that gave […]
Antoine Fuqua’s Michael wants to celebrate the legend almost exclusively rather than wrestle with the contradictions that made Jackson one of the most fascinating and controversial figures in entertainment. This Michael 4K Review covers how the film traces Jackson’s rise from his childhood in Gary, Indiana through the peak of his fame up to the […]
See how Michael Jackson’s story begins when MICHAEL arrives on Premium Digital and Premium Video on Demand beginning June 9 and on DVD, Blu-ray™ (+ Digital), 4K UHD (+ Blu-ray + Digital), 4K UHD (+ Blu-ray + Digital) Collectible Edition with Photo Book from Lionsgate® and 4K UHD (+ Blu-ray + Digital) Walmart and Amazon […]
Warner Bros is celebrating its 100th Anniversary with the release of many high profile classic titles new the 4K Ultra-HD Blu-ray format. The look like they’ll all come with a nifty slip cover that has newer art and a header logo signifying the century of cinematic existence. I believe the first one under that look […]

Discovery Home Entertainment. Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Village Roadshow Pictures’ 2001 crime […]
Deemed the debut Paramount+ Original film, Infinite seemed to originally be a movie that had a planned theatrical release. Pandemic notwithstanding, the film came and went on the service, leading me to believe Infinite to possibly be inferior. Read more on the film below, and at the end, be sure to click the paid link […]
Our friends at Sony Pictures Home Entertainment have hit it out of the proverbial ballpark today with the giveaway they have lined up for our readers here at Why So Blu. I know it’s a tad late, but in my opinion it’s better late than never with this giveaway bonanza! In celebration of The Equalizer […]
The Equalizer 2 brings warm feelings to my heart much like how Jar Jar Binks felt seeing Padme again in Episode 2. Words cannot describe how overjoyed I am not only seeing The Equalizer 2, but the fact that it was even made in the first place. The critics were pretty split on the first […]
Truth be told I wanted nothing to do with The Equalizer when it came out theatrically. I even went as far as to not make any plans to attend the press screening of it when it dropped in my area. What kind of reviewer does that? I can tell you. It’s a bad one. I guess […]
Try as I might, I just could not get to Antoine Fuqua’s remake of The Magnificent Seven (The original, a Western re-imagining of Akira Kurosawa’s Seven Samurai) in the theater. I had a free ticket from The Magnificent Seven collection Blu-ray set I picked up at Best Buy to revisit it before this new one. […]
Director Antoine Fuqua, alongside an all-star ensemble cast, delivers a modern take on the classic Western genre in THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN, debuting on Digital December 6 and on 4K Ultra HD™/Blu-ray™ Combo Pack; Blu-ray and DVD December 20 from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment and MGM Studios. The “perfectly assembled” (Brian Tallerico, ROGER EBERT) cast includes […]
It seems funny calling The Magnificent Seven a remake. Beyond knowing that 1960’s Magnificent Seven was a remake of Akira Kurosawa’s Seven Samurai, this basic story of innocent people recruiting a ragtag group to help them stop an evil threat has been seen many times over the decades. Even Pixar has used this formula with […]
Southpaw is defined in the sport of boxing as the stance where the boxer has his right hand and right foot forward, leading with right jabs, and following with a left cross right hook. Southpaw is the normal stance for a left-handed boxer. Fictional boxer Rocky Balboa, for example, was a southpaw. Therefore, I think you can pretty much conjure up that Jake Gyllenhaal’s […]

Here’s another title that slipped past me theatrically this year at the movies, but I have heard enough good word of mouth about The Equalizer, starring Academy Award Winner Denzel Washington, that I want to take the next step on the Blu-ray format and give it a chance. Looks like I’ll get my cake and eat it […]
What do you see when you look at these older actors taking care of business? A week after writing about Liam Neeson’s latest foray into the realm of B-movie thrillers, I now get to write about Denzel Washington’s latest action/thriller. All I can say is The Equalizer certainly takes its time. By the end of […]
Stop the press! I don’t care if it’s only a brief moment…word has it that Ashley Judd makes an appearance in Olympus Has Fallen and that’s good enough for me! It warms my heart that she’s actually in a movie that’s critically reviewed as being okay because God I swear she has made more bad […]
