What’s one of the hottest films dropping this year that everyone is salivating over? Well if you asked me, my answer would be Dark Knight Rises. Something tells me Gregg would have a different answer over here. But really, most comic book nerds and geeks across the country all have big ones for this little superhero film coming out on May 4th titled The Avengers. Who’s with me in this line of thinking? Me thinks it certainly can’t be as bad as Captain America, but let’s not beat a dead horse anymore. The following chat transcript just dropped on my desk moments ago and I immediately wanted to get this out there to all our readers to enjoy. The following is a transcript from MARVEL’S THE AVENGERS Global Twitter Fan Chat. Enjoy! Continue reading ‘MARVEL’S THE AVENGERS Global Twitter Fan Chat’

The bruising night featured ten fights, five brand-new fighters and one helluva finish. The Masonic Temple was packed in tight with plenty of howling fans, and the close quarters only made for a more brutal venue. Re-live Saturday’s fight night below! Saturday’s panel, “Building Worlds: Inside The Walt Disney Vault,” at Disney’s D23 Expo has already been the source of some exciting and interesting upcoming films from the Mouse House, including Pixar’s Brave, John Carter, and of course, The Avengers. The last film I want to touch upon is the upcoming animation project from director Tim Burton. Back in 1984, before Burton’s first feature film (Pee Wee’s Big Adventure!), he made a short family film, titled Frankenweenie, which was a parody/homage to the original Frankenstein film. Given that this was a fun, personal project stemming from the more family friendly mind of Tim Burton, he has now been given the chance to remake Frankenweenie as a full-length, stop-animated film and he has brought along plenty of Burton regulars to help out. Read on to learn more about the next Burton-style family film. Continue reading ‘D23 Expo: Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie’

Continuing the coverage of what was a pretty excitement-packed Saturday morning at Disney’s D23 Expo, Director Andrew Stanton and the cast of John Carter made an appearance as well. This took place at the D23 Arena panel known as, “Building Worlds: Inside The Walt Disney Vault,” which was a place for all the upcoming Disney projects to be shown off or announced to the crowd. Just as audiences were treated to sneak peeks at films such as The Muppets, The Avengers, and Pixar’s Brave, everyone was able to see a behind the scenes look at the upcoming film adaptation of the famed pulp novel hero. Read on to find out more about the heroics of Tim Riggins and the height requirements for Willem Dafoe in John Carter. Continue reading ‘D23 Expo: John Carter’

Mahna Mahna…excuse me, Saturday at Disney’s D23 Expo was a big day indeed. I have already covered The Avengers presentation, which was a way for plenty of people to geek out. I have also written about Pixar, which has big, ambitious plans for their future as well. This whole film presentation was a part of the D23 Arena panel, titled “Building Worlds: Inside the Walt Disney Studios,” which was a way for Disney to bring out the various cast and crew members involved in all of their upcoming films and show new footage. Among those was a sneak peak at the upcoming Muppets film, due for release this Thanksgiving. Given my belief that Muppets can bring out the joy in practically anyone, I was plenty happy to learn even more about this film. Read on to find out when it will be time to meet the Muppets on the Muppet Show tonight. Continue reading ‘D23 Expo: The Muppets Take The Stage’

Saturday at Disney’s D23 Expo was a big day indeed, as I have already written about The Avengers, which is an event within itself. This whole film presentation was a part of the D23 Arena panel, titled “Building Worlds: Inside the Walt Disney Studios,” which was a way for Disney to bring out the various cast and crew members involved in all of their upcoming films and show new footage. Among those was a large look at what is next for Pixar Animation Studios. Pixar Chief John Lasseter was on hand during this portion to present all of the upcoming Pixar projects, with appearances by those involved as well as a special sneak peak at some of these upcoming titles. Hearing not only about what is the next Pixar film, but getting a look at projects up to 3 years away in advance was certainly something special. Read on to learn more about what is in the future for the films of Pixar. Continue reading ‘D23 Expo: Pixar’s Brave And Other Announcements’

Saturday at Disney’s D23 Expo was a big day, mainly due to the massive film presentation in the Anaheim Convention Center Arena. While Notable films including The Avengers, John Carter, and Pixar’s Brave made their mark, a few other films were on hand as well, including an upcoming Disney animated feature called Wreck-It Ralph. I would have to honestly say that besides The Avengers and Brave, I believe Wreck-It Ralph was the film I was most impressed with, having heard about it for the first time. It has a clever premise, some great talent involved, and looks to be a lot fun. Aside from a few films such as Tangled and Bolt, I don’t believe the CG animated Disney films without the Pixar name attached have been entirely successful in the past. Hopefully Wreck-It Ralph will be on the success list. Read on to find out more about the flick. Continue reading ‘D23 Expo: Wreck-It Ralph’

While there are plenty of other things to eventually write about concerning Disney’s D23 Expo, which took place at the Anaheim Convention Center this past weekend, one of the most anticipated moments was easily the debut of basically anything related to the upcoming Avengers film. As many keeping track of this sort of news know, Disney skipped out on having a big show at this year’s San Diego Comic Con, with intentions to save their big presentations for the D23 Expo. As Disney currently owns Marvel, this meant holding back The Avengers as well. Well the time has now come, and The Avengers did make an appearance at the Expo. Nearly the entire cast was present on the arena stage, and they came with an entire scene from the film, as well as a sizzle real of new footage. It was a good place to see Disney and Marvel fans geek out. Continue reading ‘D23 Expo: Avengers Assemble And Bring New Footage’

Hey all you TwiHearts, I had the pleasure of covering the Breaking Dawn Part 1 panel in Hall H at Comic Con on Thursday morning! People had been in line since Sunday, talk about dedication. I decided I better secure a place too, so I settled in about 7 pm the night before. There were already hundreds of people ahead of me, Moms, Dads, people of all ages. The Twilight series has touched the hearts of so many people, not just teenage girls. The dedication and devotion of these fans is just so over whelming. Continue reading ‘Comic-Con 2011: Twilight’

Spartacus: Vengeance is the name of the show. It’s the second full-length season of the highly successful Starz premium television show, Spartacus: Blood and Sand. Need I say anything more? Seriously. This is the moment we have all been waiting for ladies and gentleman. This is the real deal. And today we are here to celebrate everything Spartacus. Hold on tight. Just like the language and gratuitous nudity the cable television show offers, you never quite know what to expect and besides…I like to keep people guessing. So it gives me great pleasure and honor to provide you, our readers, with exclusive roundtable interview coverage and photos recorded/taken with the stars of the hit series, Spartacus. In addition to my interview with Adam Green this past Friday at the Gas Lamp Cinemas in San Diego, I also got the chance to sit down and candidly speak with Chillerama directors Adam Rifkin and Tim Sullivan. Never having met these two gents before, I was optimistic that our conversation would be both fruitful and exciting. And thankfully, both results and more were yielded. I know I say this constantly about Mr. Green, but these two gents, Rifkin and Sullivan, are some of the nicest people you will ever meet in Hollywood. You know how when you meet someone for the first time you reserve judgment for a few minutes until you get to know them? First impressions, whether it be body language or whatnot, are really important and can make or break the interview experience. Well I kid you not, these two had me from hello. Chillerama is an upcoming direct-to-video comedy/horror anthology film consisting of four stories that take place at a dusk ’till dawn monster movie marathon in an old school drive-in in California. Considering Adam Green is involved, would you really expect anything less than “old school?” Come on! But more importantly, Chillerama was premiered to us live at Comic-Con 2011 and I couldn’t be happier about it. Each story (or segment) is a homage to a different style and a different genre. So aren’t you curious to know what each story is about? You’re lucky I like you guys so much! Come on…let’s further dissect Chillerama. Continue reading ‘Comic-Con 2011: CHILLERAMA’

Any Robert Rodriguez fans in the house? Well if there are, you’re in luck. I was shocked to learn that Robert Rodriguez scored his very own Hall H panel. That either means that the guy is a name brand now or the world of comics are taking Comic-Con back over by storm. Or maybe it’s both? Whatever the reason, I’m not complaining. Anytime you can get Robert Rodriguez to talk to you…soak all that info up, baby! Nevertheless, he was there to tell the captive audience about the following. Buckle up and hold on! Comic-Con started with a bang this year. Twilight was the first panel to headline the coveted Hall H lineup. Believe it or not, there were fans standing in line outside the convention center for over a week waiting to get in. Now that’s devotion! Our own Mary Welms will have full coverage of that panel later this week, but for now, let’s focus on the following. As you know, when you are at Comic-Con, even as a member of the press, it’s impossible to cover/hit everything. Continue reading ‘Comic-Con 2011: Hall H – Thursday’

Yeah, yeah, yeah…I’m a guy so I’m not supposed to like the CW’s Vampire Diaries. Go ahead. I heard it all before. So with that out of the way, it is with great pleasure that I got the opportunity to cover CW’s Vampire Diaries in Ballroom 20 at Saturday’s 2011 Comic-Con festivities. In attendance on the panel were none other than Candice Accola, Paul Wesley, Kevin Williamson, Ian Somerhalder, Nina Dobrev and Julie Plec. And before I go any farther, there’s one thing I have to confess…I’m TEAM DAMON! Wow! It feels good to get that off of my chest. Continue reading ‘Comic-Con 2011: Vampire Diaries’

If someone asked me today what I’m looking forward to the most next week at Comic-Con 2011 in beautiful sunny San Diego, I would honestly have to say it was CHILLERAMA. What is CHILLERAMA you ask? CHILLERAMA is whatever you make of it. For me, it’s another chance to get a look at the work of one of my favorites, Adam Green, as well as director efforts from Joe Lynch, Adam Rifkin and Tim Sullivan. It’s basically the ultimate drive-in entertainment at this year’s Comic-Con, however, it’s so much more for me and horror fans alike. Stay tuned here next week for exciting coverage of CHILLERAMA and an exclusive interview I will be conducting with directors Adam Green and Joe Lynch. I cannot wait! In the meantime, check out the cool artwork and press release below that was sent to me. See you all in San Diego! Continue reading ‘Comic-Con 2011: CHILLERAMA Poster Art!’

Greetings from the beautiful, sun drenched city of Las Vegas, Nevada. I love it out here if you can’t tell. Anyway, I’m writing in from the international merchandising convention, LIMA (Licensing Industry Merchandisers’ Association), going on now through Thursday this week at Mandalay Bay’s convention center. Like Comic-Con, this convention floor is remarkably huge. It took me hours to get around the floor itself. This may not be everyone’s proverbial cup of tea, but the fanboy in me is loving every minute of it. I can go on and on and talk about my experience here today, but I don’t want to bore you all. I truly believe that in most cases pictures speak louder than words so I will shut up and share some that I snapped today (Tuesday) on my phone of choice, my iPhone 4 (I’m also an Apple fanboy in case you did not know that about me). Continue reading ‘LIMA Invades Sin City!’
