Last we met, it was but a movie, now it is a concert. On December 3rd, a very unique event landed in Cleveland, Ohio…Star Wars: In Concert, performed by the amazing talents of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and their accompanying choir. However, you know that if Star Wars is the sole focus of the evening, this will not be your average concert. Continue reading ‘Star Wars: In Concert’

Being the big proponents we are of Rob Zombie here at Why So Blu I thought it would be only fitting to officially announce the US release date of his upcoming CD. Finally, after a short delay in release plans (see here), I am ecstatic to announce a February 2nd release date for Hellbilly Deluxe 2. February 2nd cannot come fast enough! After already hearing two songs from the CD, I have high expectations that this will be Rob’s best effort yet. Continue reading ‘Zombie’s Hellbilly Deluxe 2 Gets A Release Date!’

I’ve seen a fair amount of musical acts in my young life thus far, but before November 27, 2009, I had never experienced Rob Zombie live. My exposure to his work consists of a greatest hits cd and constant playing of ‘More Human Than Human’ back in the day when that song came out (I still can’t get enough of it). So what was I to expect? I had the opportunity to meet the hard core rocker and director before the show. Continue reading ‘Rob Zombie Resurrects Detroit’

Well shucks, it’s not everyday you get to meet, hang, party and talk with one of your life long idols. I am talking about someone who symbolizes almost everything in life that’s important to you, such as a man whose 25-year legacy embodies the perfect union of music, movies and comics. Of course, there was that brief encounter this past July in San Diego, but that was so yesterday and I am living for the now. Continue reading ‘Brian Drag Races Rob Zombie in Detroit (11/27/09)’

If a harp had a voice, it would sound like Liz Madden. With a sound that flows through the air like rose petals through a wind chime, the Irish-born singer has recently made her way to the United States to grace us with her talent. Being inspired from a very young age by her parents, Ms. Madden encountered the world of music that would ultimately set the stage for her career. Continue reading ‘Liz Madden is ‘Going Home’’

Shakira means “thankful” in Arabic, and as history has proven, she has a lot to be thankful for and proud of in her short life. She’s a Columbian singer-songwriter, musician, record producer, dancer, philanthropist and a prodigy. She is a native Spanish speaker who can also converse in fluent English, Portuguese and Italian. She has an IQ score of 140, which many scholars consider borderline genius. Continue reading ‘Brian Bites Into Shakira’s She Wolf (CD Review)’

Continuing with my non-stop Shakira coverage as of late, I am excited to announce the debut of her newest U.S. music video “Give It Up To Me.” You can check the video out in its entirety below. There’s no denying, after watching this video, that the Columbian superstar is embarking on a mission to conquer American audiences with her infectious Latin rhythms, dynamic yearning vocals and her unmitigated sexual appeal that only Shakira can deliver. Continue reading ‘Shakira Gives It Up To Why So Blu’

The title of the story says it all. Hot off the success of her first single “She Wolf,” the seductive Shakira has “Did It Again” with her latest hip shaking music video. Interestingly enough, the song “Did It Again” will be her next single off the new album, She Wolf, in all countries outside the United States. The reason being is that Shakira is prepping her latest Timbaland produced radio chart topping song “Give It Up To Me” for offering to the American audiences. Continue reading ‘Shakira Did It Again!’

I am sure it seems like we are on the Rob Zombie bandwagon here. I respect the hell out of the guy for all he has brought to the world of music, movies, comics and more. That kind of fits our slogan here at Why So Blu if you think about it. Anyway, the latest news I dug up today comes as quite a shock to me. It has to be a great thing for Rob, or I am sure he would not have done it, but its the fans who are going to have to suffer a little longer while we anxiously wait for his Hellbilly Deluxe 2 album to drop. Continue reading ‘Rob Zombie Signs with Roadrunner Records!’

Before the world of High-Definition and Blu-ray ever existed the majority of my life was devoted to music. Not only was I an avid fan of my favorite musical acts, but I also participated and dabbled in the lifestyle as well. Yes, in my past life I fronted a few bands. So it gives me great joy, from time-to-time, to revisit my roots and bring to this site some current music news and happenings. Continue reading ‘Shakira Brings Sexy Back with She Wolf’

The evil returns! Rob Zombie is back with another a#$-kicking batch of songs coming November 17th. The album is titled Hellbilly Deluxe 2 and the first single “What ?” has been unleashed and is available as an mp3 download on Amazon today for only 99 cents! It’s a rare occasion for me, but I actually fell in love with the song after my first listen. It very well could be attributed to the fact that I have been listening to Zombie non-stop over the past couple months, but I must admit that it’s refreshing to see Rob Zombie is not showing any signs of slowing down or going soft as he ages.
