Grant Morrison is one of the most iconic, accomplished writers in comics today. Beyond having written The Invisibles, All Star Superman, New X-men, Final Crisis, The Filth, and many more, he has also been the focus of a documentary, Talking with Gods. Further still, he wrote the enlightening book, Super Gods: What Masked Vigilantes, Miraculous Mutants, and a Sun God from Smallville Can Teach Us About Being Human. Recently Morrison has delved into Indian mythology, and spearheaded the publishing company Graphic India. I was lucky enough to hear him speak about it. Audiences were given an introduction to Marvel’s Luke Cage already on the Netflix series Jessica Jones. This allowed Mike Colter to already make an impression as the character. However, this September, Luke Cage arrives on Netflix and looks to be kicking plenty of butt. That’s just one of the things Marvel and Netflix showed off at Comic-Con however, as there was also a first look at Iron Fist, as well as a teaser for The Defenders, which will combine all of these Marvel heroes from Netflix series into one team-up series. Check out all the trailers below.

My pal Bianca Allaine is trying to get it off the ground and like most independent films these days, is taking it to horror and film fans in general to help with some production costs as this one is being paid for out of pocket. But she’s got a sweet deal. When you help donate at least $25, you are going to receive an awesome limited edition T-shirt with artwork designed by Jimmy Giegerich of Baltimore’s own Pizza Party Printing. Keep on reading for some pictures, information and a link to hurry up and go snag yourself a shirt before they are all gone!

Okay! So like I needed a third reason! While I’m holding up the home front here in Austin, TX while my peers are living it up at San Diego Comic-Con 2016 today in Hall H, videos like this that Warner Bros. just released online make it a good time to be alive. After all, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is my favorite film of the year so far as indicated here and here. So why the heck shouldn’t I be happy with our new Comic-Con Hall H look at the Suicide Squad Official Comic-Con Soundtrack Remix trailer? That’s a rhetorical question. I’m flippin’ ecstatic! Every team needs a group of meta-humans and criminals to pull it off when ordinary mortals can’t. Excuse me while I go change my pants for the third time now. Ha ha!!! As a I perusing the Comic Con floor and happened across the set costumes from Supergirl, The Flash and Arrow! The CW is really crushing when it comes to their super-hero shows! I’ve never really been a fan Flash when it came to the comics. But after watching this series which starts the magnificent Grant Gustin, I have officially become a true believer and devote follower of “The Speed Force”! The fact that they’ve even ATTEMPTED to make a show that focuses on Green Arrow is something that should be applauded in and of itself. He’s basically Batman with a bow and arrow. The second of two Comic-Con Hall H panels focused on The Walking Dead universe tool place on Friday, following what fans saw at the Fear the Walking Dead panel. Of course, many were far more excited about getting a look at the upcoming season of The Walking Dead, with the continuation of the Negan storyline, the introduction of The Kingdom and King Ezekiel, and of course a foll0w-up to who was killed by Negan’s barbed wire-wrapped baseball bat at the end of last season. The cast and crew were on hand, despite being very secretive about the upcoming season, but the first trailer for season 7 certainly set things up right.

Chris Hardwick hosts Dreamworks‘ Trolls Panel featuring directors Mike Mitchel and Walt Dorn and the stars of the film Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake. You might remember the directors from their work on the Shrek films. They explain how they took on the responsibility of creating the world and origin of the Trolls. A task that they were all too delighted to take on. Based on the two clips they showed, you can tell that this isn’t just a studio’s attempt to cash in on a popular toy of the past. That they wanted to make a real honest to goodness story. And as cliched as it sounds, this really is the kind of movie that both kids AND adults can have fun with. It has plenty of action and adventure for the kids plus the comedy is deftly written that it actually had me laughing in way I usually reserve for movie Judd Apatow movies!
