Four years is not that long when you think about and in that amount of time from now, Riverdance will become 20 years old. Where has the time gone? The year was 1994 and a little something known as the Eurovision Song Contest, a competition that is a fixture in Europe, was being hosted by Ireland. As host, it was their duty to provide a piece of entertainment with hopes of impressing audience members and television viewers alike. Continue reading ‘Irish Dance and the Flatley Factor’

September 19, 1997 is a date I will always remember. I have been fortunate enough in my life that I got to interview (and later meet) someone who inspired more than anyone else. This may sound cliché, but Irish dance changed me, my life, the way I approach things, etc. This interview, while it didn’t really fall into my lap, well, I’m just going to say it fell into my lap. I had been chatting online one day with a fellow Lord of the Dance fan named ‘Mitzi.’ Continue reading ‘Interview with Michael Flatley’

Hello Why So Blu fans. I would like to thank every reader and viewer that stops to visit us here every day at our site. We love to bring you the best of the best in movie entertainment. Where would we all be without the big screen? What could point us in the direction of our lives, without anything to stare at for continuous hours on end? I don’t even want to know. That is why I am particularly proud of one company who has been entertaining us for centuries, The Warner Brothers. Continue reading ‘WSB’s Aaron Harris Talks with Cass Warner’

If any of you readers frequent Las Vegas often, you know that at any given moment you’re bound to see something that puts you in a state of “ah.” Whether this is an intoxicated patron conducting a free sidewalk show or even a 1950’s young Elvis taking tips for a memorable, yet cherishing photo, there’s always a good show in Vegas! In any case, that’s similar to what happened to me last week in Sin City. February 22nd through the 28th was a tribute to the late musician Johnny Cash! Continue reading ‘Johnny Cash Tribute w/ Jimmie Ray & Cyndi Cantrell’

Hey guys and gals! It’s Aaron Harris back at the ball and chain, (my desk) reporting on an interview I had with a superstar musician. Now when I say ‘musician,’ I mean musician! This is a guy who plays everything by hand, which being a musician myself, will do also, but to a certain extent. Ok, ok, let me stop beating around the bush and let you know whom I am referring to, but hold on, have you guys ever played Guitar Hero? If so, you’ll definitely lose playing against this guy. Marc Rizzo folks, Marc “the hardest working man” Rizzo! Continue reading ‘WSB’s Aaron Harris Interviews Marc Rizzo’

Tomorrow, January 22nd, marks the inaugural episode of the much anticipated Spartacus: Blood and Sand on the Starz Network. Taking place in the gladiatorial times of ancient Rome, we follow the life of a loving husband and cunning warrior who is bestowed the moniker of ‘Spartacus.’ It’s a difficult task to educate the inevitable fans on the show without giving too much away but if you enjoyed the film 300, you will certainly fall into a world of engrossment when watching Spartacus: Blood and Sand. From November up to now, there has been a lot of buzz on Why So Blu about Captain Clegg and the Night Creatures. This holiday season, we were able to chat with the Captain about his early beginnings in music, his deadliness with a six-string and working with metal magician Rob Zombie. For the faint at heart, here’s your fair warning to beware. Clegg tells it like it is in his no-holds-barred delivery. Continue reading ‘Diggin’ Graves with Captain Clegg’

I’ve seen a fair amount of musical acts in my young life thus far, but before November 27, 2009, I had never experienced Rob Zombie live. My exposure to his work consists of a greatest hits cd and constant playing of ‘More Human Than Human’ back in the day when that song came out (I still can’t get enough of it). So what was I to expect? I had the opportunity to meet the hard core rocker and director before the show. Continue reading ‘Rob Zombie Resurrects Detroit’

Well shucks, it’s not everyday you get to meet, hang, party and talk with one of your life long idols. I am talking about someone who symbolizes almost everything in life that’s important to you, such as a man whose 25-year legacy embodies the perfect union of music, movies and comics. Of course, there was that brief encounter this past July in San Diego, but that was so yesterday and I am living for the now. Continue reading ‘Brian Drag Races Rob Zombie in Detroit (11/27/09)’

If a harp had a voice, it would sound like Liz Madden. With a sound that flows through the air like rose petals through a wind chime, the Irish-born singer has recently made her way to the United States to grace us with her talent. Being inspired from a very young age by her parents, Ms. Madden encountered the world of music that would ultimately set the stage for her career. Continue reading ‘Liz Madden is ‘Going Home’’

While attending the 2009 Spike TV Scream Awards, I had the privilege of meeting one very unique person. Her resumé is quite diverse and is only outmatched by her intense drive to succeed and reach the top. Tara Cardinal is a self-proclaimed stunt diva as well as a scream queen, entertainment analyst, actress and creator/producer of Legend of the Red Reaper. With the kind of schedule any one of those occupations has, it’s a wonder how Tara balances the aspects of each, but so far, she’s done so successfully. The red carpet at the 2009 Spike TV Scream Awards featured stars aplenty and Why So Blu was there to cover all the glitz and glamor that strolled down the hailed walkway that night. Make sure to check out our photo coverage of the red carpet extravaganza here. We managed to get a few soundbites from some of those in attendance, starting with Nathan Barr, composer of the hugely successful HBO series True Blood. I think it’s safe to say that times are tough in this economy and it’s not easy to find work. Now imagine being an actor or actress. The odds are already stacked against you and then you’ve got these dire financial times to contend with. Despite these odds, there are those who not only weather the storm, but become successful in the midst of it all. Continue reading ‘Gregg’s Exclusive Interview with Megan Franich’

The bi-annual Cinema Wasteland convention in Strongsville, Ohio can provide an excitement-inducing experience of the senses for the horror fan, casual or hardcore. Held at the Holiday Inn, you will find an array of vendors, directors and actors, up close and personal. On October 3rd this year, Why So Blu had the distinct pleasure of speaking with the very talented and stunningly beautiful Cerina Vincent. If you scout the vendor floor at Comic-Con, you’ll find your senses under attack from all possible angles. There are authors, artists, filmmakers, celebrities, store owners and big companies all trying to attract your attention with a barrage of advertising and showcasing. It’s easy to miss something when you are out and about in this area of the San Diego Convention Center. Nevertheless, there was one particular booth that did successfully capture my eye without the need of someone convincing me to step closer. After months of waiting for its arrival, the 2009 San Diego Comic Con is but a memory now. Nevertheless, it was a great time which provided me with the opportunity to interview the “Incredible” Lou Ferrigno. At 57 years young, the former Mr. Universe is still in outstanding shape as he maintains his daily workouts to keep up his hard-earned physique. The actor/trainer/body-builder gave us the scoop on what he’s been up to lately as well as his workout expertise and the recent passing of his close friend, Michael Jackson.
